Her story: Courtney Klima, 28, was born in Baltimore and raised in Catonsville. She works as a teacher at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Her parents, Kelly and Bill Klima, live in Catonsville.
His story: Jeremy Fisher, 29, was also born in Baltimore and raised in Catonsville. He works as an account representative for BSN Sports. His parents, Karen and Earl Fisher, live in Catonsville.
Their story: The two met as 3-year-olds at Trinity Christian Pre-School in Catonsville. They also both attended Catonsville Middle School before going to different high schools.
"We hung out with different groups of people" in high school, Courtney said.
Courtney and Jeremy ran into each other on June 7, 2013, at Nobles Bar and Grill in Federal Hill.
"When I walked in, Jeremy was sitting at the bar and said my name," she said. "Two weeks later, we went on our first date."
Courtney was apprehensive about dating at first.
"I didn't even want to go on the date," she said. "My mom was like, 'Just go. What's it going to hurt?' I went. And the connection was there. He was so nice. He was funny. I asked to go on the second date."
The couple live in Arbutus.
The proposal: The couple were on a family vacation in the Outer Banks, N.C., in August 2014 when Jeremy proposed.
"I had completely no idea," Courtney said. "He invited me. We had been dating for a year."
One night, Jeremy took Courtney to see a lighthouse.
"Another couple was there," she recalled. "He asked them to take a picture of us. He got on one knee and proposed. I always wanted someone to be there to capture the moment."
Courtney was in complete disbelief.
"I didn't really think it was true," she said. "All these emotions were going through my head."
Venue: The ceremony and reception were held at Turf Valley in Ellicott City; 175 people attended.
Flowers and decor: Scentsational Florals provided the flowers, which were in fuchsia and silver shades.
Her dress: Courtney wore an ivory A-line gown with vintage beading on the top by Pnina Tornai from Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City.
Bridesmaid dresses: Bridesmaids wore floor-length fuchsia gowns by Christina Wu.
Men's attire: Jeremy and the groomsmen wore gray tuxedos from Cy's Swimwear and Tuxedo Shop in Catonsville.
Music: Ahmad Ibrahim served as the DJ. The couple's first dance was to "I Don't Dance" by Lee Bryce.
Food and dessert: Turf Valley catered the dinner, which consisted of filet mignon, crab cakes and vegetables. Cakes By Debbie made the multitiered cake, which included tiramisu and lemon-raspberry layers with a vanilla buttercream frosting.
Favors: The couple provided a bar serving fuchsia-, silver- and white-colored candies for favors.
Special touches: Courtney and Jeremy honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
