When the doors of the Baltimore Museum of Industry opened at 6 p.m., the line of folks waiting to get in for its annual Bull & Oyster Roast already stretched halfway across the museum's parking lot.
It was a great welcome for Anita Kassof, only six weeks into her new job as the museum's executive director.
"I am amazed," she said.
But Harvey Floyd, event chair, expected nothing less.
The $55-a-ticket event "always sells itself out," he said, attributing its popularity not only to the oyster and beef fare but to the entertainment, the classic rock band A Classic Case.
"People start dancing as soon as the band starts playing, and we'll be dancing until the band absolutely has to stop," he said.
Streett Baldwin, the museum's board chair, had his own favorite attraction.
"The bacon wheel rocks," he said with a grin.
