Who cares if she wasn’t born here? Every day that Carla Hayden wakes up to commute to her gig as the 14th Librarian of Congress, she’s proving herself a faithful daughter of her adopted city. When Hayden was sworn in Sept. 14, we’d have understood if the former CEO of the Enoch Pratt Free Library had left Charm City behind and moved to Washington. But Hayden said she never thought of leaving Cross Keys, where she lives in the same building as her mother.
