The Mayor’s Christmas Parade in Baltimore and the Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade in Annapolis are among the 10 best holiday parades the country, according to USA Today readers.
The 2.5 mile-long Hampden parade, known for its variety of floats, dance troupes, marching bands, costumed characters and dozens of Harley Davidson motorcycles, was voted third in USA Today’s 10Best contest. The Eastport parade of illuminated boats came in at No. 4. The Mummers Parade in Philadelphia topped the list, which was determined based on editor nominations and readers’ votes.
Other parades within the Mid-Atlantic region also got some recognition, including the Reston Holiday Parade in Reston, Va. (No. 6), and the Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights in Alexandria, Va. (No. 8).
