"Veep" actor Reid Scott said Martin O'Malley wanted a cameo role on the HBO comedy series.
Martin O'Malley has left a mark in politics as Maryland's former governor and Baltimore's former mayor, as well as making waves for his musical skills (he's part of seven-piece Irish rock band, O'Malley's March). Why not break into the television industry, too?
"Veep" actor Reid Scott, who plays former political aide Dan Egan on the HBO series, told "CBS This Morning" that O'Malley wanted to make a cameo on the political comedy, which stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and used to film in Baltimore.
Scott, whose "Veep" character is now a host on "CBS This Morning," said O'Malley was running for president when he expressed interest. "But he also wanted to come on … and look cool. But no one looks cool on our show," Scott said. You can watch the clip above (the O'Malley bit starts around the 4:10 mark).
O'Malley could not be immediately reached for comment Friday.
