Craig Robinson, Ron Paul, Kal Penn, Tony Mendez to speak at Hopkins

A combination of politicians, pundits and proletariat heroes are scheduled to speak at Johns Hopkins University this fall in a series of free public lectures.

Linda Greenhouse, the Pulitzer Prize-winning former Supreme Court correspondent for The New York Times, will be the keynote speaker at the University's Constitution Day celebration at on Sept. 17. The lecture will be held in room 210 of Hodson Hall.

In addition, a five-event undergraduate-run speaker series held in Shriver Hall kicks off Sept. 10 with an appearance by the actor Craig Robinson, who played Dunder Mifflin warehouse manager Darryl Philbin for nine seasons on NBC's "The Office."

Other scheduled speakers include: Jon Favreau, formerly the chief speechwriter for U.S. president Barack Obama on Oct 2; Kal Penn, an actor and former associate director of the White House Office of Public Engagement on Oct. 8; retired CIA officers Tony and Jonna Mendez on Oct. 16 (Tony Mendez was involved in the real-life hostage rescue portrayed in the Academy Award-winning film "Argo); and former U.S. Rep. and presidential candidate Ron Paul on Nov. 1.

For the undergraduate series, reserved seating is also available for $25, or $90 for a season pass.

All six lectures begin at 8 p.m. on the campus at 3400 N. Charles St.
