Want to be the very best Pokemon Go player, like no one ever was? Try one of these events that will lead you to numerous Pokestops and Pokegyms throughout the city, and will give you the best chance of catching them all with a little company:
The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, which features more than 20 Pokestops and two gyms, will host "Pokemon mornings" from 10 a.m to 11 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. The zoo will set out "lures" to attract additional Pokemon. Paid admission or zoo membership required.
As an addition to their Summer Social concert series, Waterfront Partnership invites Pokemon lovers to West Shore Park at the Inner Harbor from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday for a night of free live music, food, drinks and Pokemon hunting. The organization will set out lures at three nearby Pokestops every 30 minutes, and has a nearby Pokegym that will be perfect for training your monsters and battling other players.
Food and drink specials mobile app Loople Mobile will host a Pokemon Go walk party from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday that will help players hit up numerous Pokestops throughout the city and hatch their Pokemon eggs. The walk is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Southern Provisions restaurant in Canton and then will wind through Fells Point in hopes of catching every Pokemon east of the Inner Harbor. As you travel through the city, drink and food specials at local businesses will be visible on the Loople Mobile app. Dogwatch Tavern will host an after-party starting at 6 p.m. For more information, click here.
Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) will host "Gotta Adopt 'Em All!" — a play on the Pokemon tagline "Gotta catch 'em all!" — waiving adoption fees for all adult pets 1 year or older until Sunday. A $10 microchip fee, a $10 pet license for city residents and all regular adoption procedures still apply.
Maryland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Maryland SPCA) is hosting an "I Choose You" adoption weekend, playing off the common saying from the Pokemon TV series. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, all adoption fees will be waived for adult dogs and cat ages six months and older. The $20 pet ID package fee, which includes a collar, ID tag, microchip and pet license is still required for adopters living in Baltimore City.
