GoFundMe page aims to raise $1M for 'American Ninja Warrior' Geoff Britten

If you thought Olney's Geoff Britten, who became the first "American Ninja Warrior" on Monday but lost out on the $1 million prize, deserved to go home with some cash, you are not alone.

On Wednesday, a GoFundMe user named Adam Martin created the "ANW Geoff Britten prize fund" page because, according to the description, "As someone that works full-time to support his family we feel that Geoff is just as deserving to receive the prize."

As of Thursday morning, more than 110 donors had contributed more than $3,200. The goal is listed at $1 million.

The page's description notes that Martin's company in Buffalo, N.Y., Dave & Adam's Card World, donated the first $500. There is no indication on the website that Martin knows Britten personally.

Along with their money, donors included messages for Britten.

"What an amazing run, Geoff! I loved watching you with my son this season[;] you're an inspiration to fathers everywhere. Congratulations!" wrote user Rich Streicher.
