Last week, Forbes released its "30 Under 30" feature for 2017, and we reported on two people with Baltimore ties who were highlighted as some of the most successful and up-and-coming people in their industries.
Johns Hopkins alumna and Los Angeles-based television literary agent Laura Gordon made the Hollywood and entertainment list, and Ravens guard John Urschel, who's pursuing a doctorate in math at MIT, made the science list.
But that's not all. We've since been notified of a few other locals who earned "30 Under 30" recognition:
- Woodlawn High School and MIT graduate Kwami Williams was featured on Forbes’ social entrepreneurs list. The 25-year-old co-founded Ghana-based company MoringaConnect, which uses the moringa tree to make beauty products, oils and snacks. The company aims to help eradicate malnutrition while also creating jobs for locals.
- Johns Hopkins graduate Alex Mathews, 22, and current Hopkins student Param Shah, 21, were featured on Forbes’ manufacturing and industry list. As undergraduates at Hopkins, the two co-founded Fusiform, a business that uses 3-D technology to digitally design custom orthopedics.
