Michael Voltaggio certainly knows his way around a kitchen but the idea of playing a chef on TV seems to be tilting his toque.
The Maryland-born "Top Chef" winner has been on Twitter, talking about an upcoming cameo on the TV show"The Exes" where he promises to "be cooking up some comedy." Voltaggio, who usually seems quite cool, even in the heat of the kitchen, says he's got the jitters about acting.
"Is playing 'yourself' on TV considered acting? Somebody else does write what you say," he said on Twitter. The Twitter account for "The Exes" responded: "We can't wait #salivating."
And here's where Voltaggio reveals his nerves.
"My hands are salivating," he replied. "Its hard to 'act' like yourself! #nervous."
Michael Voltaggio and his brother Bryan shot to fame after appearing on season six of "Top Chef." Michael Voltaggio won after a dramatic brother against brother finale.
Since the show, Michael Voltaggio has opened two Los Angeles restaurants, Ink and Ink Sack. Bryan Voltaggio cooks closer to home at Frederick's
and his new casual restaurant
The brothers released a cookbook together last year called "Volt inc."

If viewers aren't excited, TV Land's crew is. They have high hopes he'll come with snacks and class up the craft services table.
"We'll gladly hold your salivating hand," the show's Twitter rep said, "if you takeover crafty (and send some to NYC!)."
