Now that Michael Phelps' Olympic career is over, he can turn his focus to his next big challenge: wedding planning.
Nicole Johnson, Phelps' fiancee, told Access Hollywood that the couple has a date set for their wedding. The ceremony will be "small and intimate," she said, but they plan to throw a "massive bash for everyone in the States." (Sounds like a destination wedding is in store?)
Phelps, a Baltimore native, and Johnson, who was Miss California in 2010, got engaged in February 2015 after dating on and off for several years. The couple welcomed their first child (and real superstar of this Olympics), Boomer, in May.
They had their share of rough patches, Johnson explained in the Access Hollywood interview, but Debbie Phelps said she always knew Johnson was the one for her son.
"They had to figure that out themselves, and they had to mature," Debbie Phelps said. "When he called me and said, 'I'm getting back with Nicole," ... I said, 'That's where you should be.'"
Johnson said she and Phelps plan on giving Boomer a sibling — eventually. A new baby, six Olympic medals and a wedding are probably enough excitement for one year.
