On Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh's first day in office, her Twitter handle was changed to "@Mayor_Pugh." Note the underscore — "@MayorPugh" was taken.
When in politics, it's standard to change your Twitter handle to reflect your title. Former mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is still "@MayorSRB." City Council President Bernard C. "Jack" Young is "@prezjackyoung" and President Barack Obama is "@POTUS."
On Tuesday — Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh's first day in office — her Twitter handle was changed to "@Mayor_Pugh." Note the underscore — "@MayorPugh" had already been taken.
The Twitter account @mayorpugh, which lists its location as "Provincia Baltimala," belongs to "Delicious Taco Bot," an account that does nothing but tweet photos of tacos.
As the account's bio states, it is presumably a Twitter robot that has been programmed to produce automated tweets featuring the Mexican delicacy.
Since December 2014, the account has tweeted out more than 80 pictures of tacos with differing shells and fillings. It had just 36 followers as of Wednesday afternoon.
Strangely enough, the account tweeted out a picture of tacos Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m., around the same time that Pugh's inauguration was held. The last time it tweeted before that was on Nov. 18. Coincidence?
When contacted on Twitter by The Baltimore Sun on Wednesday, "Delicious Taco Bot" direct messaged the reporter with a photo of — you guessed it — a taco.
