Kevin Spacey, Egypt's next president?

The people of Egypt have set their eyes on a dark horse presidential candidate.

He's ambitious, comfortable with world leaders and comfortable in front of a camera.

Very comfortable.

Kevin Spacey is the subject of a tongue-in-cheek write-in campaign to be Egypt's next president.

Doctored "House of Cards" promotional photos started floating around the internet last week.

They show Spacey, in character as ruthless American politician Frank Underwood, with Egyptian campaign slogans.

The Saudi-owned network Al-Arabiya says that the spoof campaign is an attempt to add levity to an otherwise predictable campaign. Former military chief, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, is expected to beat leftist Hamdeen Sabahi, in the election at the end of this month.

Spacey certainly feels at home among world leaders.

And last week the star made headlines when he met up with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Spacey posted a photo of himself with Peña Nieto on Facebook captioned, "One of these Presidents is real."
