Update: This post has been updated with comments from Justin Tucker.
Ravens kicker Justin Tucker brought his pipes to a charity Christmas concert Thursday in Baltimore.
The special guest performer at Catholic Charities' Christmas Festival Thursday evening belted out "Ave Maria" before a packed house at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mount Vernon.
"The whole event, the whole concert was truly a blessing to be a part of in such a small way for me," Tucker said. "All the musicians were so talented and there was a great turnout, and it was all for a great cause, which makes it that much better."
Tucker, who began singing opera in college, joined the Concert Artists of Baltimore and soloist Laura Bruckmann in the concert conducted by Edward Polochick.
The show benefitted Gallagher Services, which supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Tucker's opera skills have been featured in a number of commercials, most recently a Royal Farms coffee spot.
"It's way more nerve-wracking to sing in front of a group of people because quite frankly that's not my element," Tucker said. "Kicking a ball in front of tens of thousands of people in a stadium and a bunch more watching on TV, that's totally our comfort zone."
