If your biggest complaint about Playboy was that it just didn't venerate porn history enough, John Waters is here to address your concerns.
Baltimore's Pope of Trash will, starting at 10 tonight, host a new Playboy TV series called "Groundbreakers." In a sort of Robert Osborne treatment of "classic" porn, Waters will emcee Saturday-night screenings of the films "Deep Throat" (1972), "Candy Stripers" (1978), "The Devil in Miss Jones" (1973); "Tell Them Johnny Wadd Is Here" (1976) and "Debbie Does Dallas" (1978).
In an interview with Variety, the director refers to the gig as "an educational opportunity."
