Hilarious video launches fundraising campaign for Baltimore Rock Opera Society

Only the Baltimore Rock Opera Society would launch a fundraising campaign with a video featuring an assortment of muppets, armor-clad warriors and the alcohol-fueled death of a golden egg-laying chicken.

The group -- known as BROS--  hopes to raise $30,000 with its recently launched Indiegogo campaign.  They've also filed paperwork to become a 501(c)3 nonprofit.

"We want a long-term home. We want a year-round staff," said artistic director Aran Keating. "We have all these crazy ideas we want to do."

With bizarre and elaborate productions, the BROS are one of the more eccentric theater groups in a city full of eccentric performers.

The BROS had a vision, but little experience, when the group put on its first show, Grundlehammer, in 2009, Keating said.

Over the past six years, members have honed the technical and practical skills to put on the over-the-top musical productions.

The BROS will be performing a series of six one-act rock operas at the Creative Alliance in May.

Until then, you can get your fix of their Game of Thrones meets Star Wars meets Sesame Street aesthetic with this video.
