Though we were hoping for a drunk retelling of the Great Baltimore Fire, we'll settle for a cameo.
David Simon, creator of "The Wire," appeared on tonight's episode of "Drunk History," the Comedy Central show in which storytellers imbibe with host Derek Waters and retell historically inaccurate tales.
Simon didn't deliver a history lesson of his own, but commented on the state of journalism over Don Julio, crabs and hot sauce in a quick appearance with Waters.
"The democratization of commentary on the Internet is brilliant," he said. "There's no more monopoly on who gets to say what. What I'm sad about is the newsroom -- the idea of a bunch of professionals deciding what is substantive enough and accurate enough that you run it."
Here's hoping we'll get to share a shot of our own one day with Simon.
