Baltimore native Joe Maye earns spot on 'The Voice' after spontaneous duet with Christina Aguilera

Not only did Baltimore native Joe Maye make it past the blind auditions on "The Voice," he got to sing a spontaneous duet with Christina Aguilera.

After hearing Maye's rendition of "I Put a Spell on You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Aguilera was so impressed that she joined him on stage for an epic performance, which you can watch above.

Maye auditioned for Season 9 but couldn't get any judges to turn their chairs. He fared much better this year, joining Team Christina.

According to Maye's "The Voice" bio, he worked as a singing waiter on an entertainment cruise in the Inner Harbor after graduating from high school. If his performances then were anything like the one above, that must have been quite a dinner cruise.
