Schumer, a Towson University graduate who starred in and wrote the blockbuster "Trainwreck," posted a picture Monday with friends standing by the White House. Hanisch's arm is around her.
Hanisch, 29, posted a picture last week of the couple with the caption, "Sometimes in life you get extremely lucky, and the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman comes along when you least expect it. Here's to what adventures 2016 brings!"
Hanisch founded The Last Workshop, a custom furniture company in Chicago. He was previously a Chicago-based freelance project manager and design consultant, according to his LinkedIn page.
Schumer has become a familiar sight in Chicago recently. She performed at a sold-out show at Constellation Dec. 24 with Chicago native John Mulaney and her brother, Jason Stein, a Chicago bass clarinetist.
