Alex Cortright, who was dismissed from his longtime home at WRNR in September, has been hired as the new morning disc jockey at WTMD, the Towson University radio station. Cortright inherits WTMD's 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. morning slot from Erik Deatherage, who left in early December to relocate out of state.

"Alex is the perfect combination of music expert and relatable personality with extraordinary community commitment," said WTMD program director Scott Mullins in a statement from the radio station announcing the hire.
