Athletes and politicians are going green to show their support for Gov. Larry Hogan.

Hogan's Facebook page features photos of Orioles center fielder Adam Jones, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and others wearing lime green '#HoganStrong' wristbands, the color for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma awareness. Hogan announced June 22 he had been diagnosed with the disease.

Photos show Hogan's daughter and wife passing out the wristbands to Orioles manager Buck Showalter and several players. Hogan also posted a photo of Christie and wife Mary Pat Foster wearing the bracelets, and that the New Jersey governor "has been in touch with me almost daily to give me support!"

"I'm hoping that I'm going to be able to cut this thing off when doctors give Larry the good news that he's in remission," Christie said in a video of support.

After lots of inquiries, political organization Change Maryland is launching a website, hoganstrong.com, by Thursday morning to sell the wristbands, T-shirts and bumper stickers.

All of the net proceeds from the items will go toward charities fighting cancer, including Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, according to Change Maryland Digital Director Kyle Kohli.
