WBAL-TV's Ava Marie welcomes first child

It's a boy for WBAL-TV meteorologist Ava Marie

Seems like there’s a new little weatherman in town.

WBAL-TV meteorologist Ava Marie gave birth Thursday to a son, Easton Michael. Born at 7:44 a.m., according to mom’s tweet, he weighed in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces.

“Woke up yesterday for work but went to the hospital instead,” the new mom tweeted early Friday morning.

A couple additional details, courtesy of Ava Marie’s Facebook page: Young Easton Michael weighed in at “exactly the weight I forecasted,” and “We just love snuggling with him.”

Marie joined WBAL in June 2011, after working for AccuWeather in State College, Pa., and appearing on ABC's "World News Now," "The CBS Evening News," Fox Sports Network and New England Sports Network. She has a bachelor of science in meteorology from the University of Kansas.

Mom and new son, her first child, are doing great, according to WBAL-TV spokeswoman Wanda Q. Draper.
