At long last, David Simon has entered the 140-character world.
We didn't think we'd ever see the day, but Simon, creator of "The Wire" and a former Baltimore Sun reporter, has joined Twitter. He sent his (seemingly undetected) first tweet on Saturday -- only three more have followed. Give him some time to get into the swing of things.
His wife, crime novelist Laura Lippman, has been on the social medium for nearly five years. She tweeted yesterday, "David Simon is on Twitter under @AoDespair. I'm not following him, but you might like to."
Simon has accrued nearly 1,500 followers. No word on what it will take to get Lippman on board.
Simon gave "example #47" of why he doesn't (or didn't) tweet here.
