Amazon's 'Jack Ryan' series starring John Krasinski filming at Sandy Point

Workers at Sandy Point State Park were all atwitter Thursday with news that a Hollywood production was there, shooting scenes for a new "Jack Reacher" movie.

Sorry, but apparently no Tom Cruise appearances are forthcoming. But will "Jack Ryan" do?

Scenes from an upcoming Amazon series chronicling the adventures of a young Ryan, the CIA analyst at the center of much of Tom Clancy's fiction, are being shot in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., over the next few days, the Maryland Film Office confirmed. The series, most of which is being filmed in Canada, stars John Krasinski as Ryan.

At Sandy Point, five production trailers were stationed at the park as of midday Thursday. Earlier, a motorcade of limousines had swept through. A member of the crew who was not authorized to discuss the matter on the record told a Sun reporter that there were no celebrities at Thursday's shoot for the production, which would shift Friday to Easton before returning Saturday to D.C.

The cast also includes “Wire” alum Wendell Pierce, Timothy Hutton and Peter Fonda.

As for Cruise? Well, he's got the latest remake of "The Mummy." hitting Theaters in June, and another movie, "American Made," slated for September. At the moment, he's working on a sixth "Mission: Impossible" film.

Sadly, none of those involve Jack Reacher or a likely film shoot in Maryland.
