26-year-old Devin Allen's photos have been shared by thousands, including Rihanna.

Prior to the strife in response to Freddie Gray’s death, Devin Allen, a 26-year-old West Baltimore resident, was an aspiring photographer who had been shooting models and doing street photography.

But after he took a series of powerful images from protests and areas of unrest, Allen caught the eyes of CNN and BBC. His photographs were shared by thousands of users--including Rihanna and Beyonce--on social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram.

But his piece de resistance was landing the cover of Time this week.

The black and white image shows a man running away from a group of policemen.

“For me, who’s from Baltimore city, to be on the cover of Time Magazine, I don’t even know what to say. I’m speechless,” Allen told Time. “It’s amazing. It’s life changing for me. It’s inspiring me to go further. It gives me hope and it gives a lot of people around me hope. After my daughter, who’s my pride and joy, this is the best thing that’s happened to me.”

The Sun could not immediately reach Allen Thursday for comment.
