Associated Black Charities Gala

Even though this was her first Associated Black Charities Gala, for Katrina Dennis, 35, getting dressed for it was a no-brainer for this Pikesville attorney. The Kramon & Graham principal is the first to admit that when she's on her own time, she often goes a bit over-the-top in her killer chic look. "For play, I'm fabulous. It's high fashion meets Baltimore. I'm way overdressed for Baltimore, with my [Christian] Louboutin [shoes] and Chanel bag," she said with a laugh. So the party, which raised money for ABC's efforts in closing the health and wealth gap in communities throughout the state, was a perfect fit for her style -- even if she was shopping for her gown the day before the event. Dennis just headed to one of her favorite local shops, Maria Williams' Little-m-Style boutique. "I just wanted to look fabulous," she said. "I wanted to go all out. [Williams] gave me several dresses to pick from and I didn't like any of them. I said, I want something bigger. She comes out with this dress, and I went, that's it. I had to get it [altered] in one day." HER STYLE: "Classy chic. I always wear classic pieces, but they have a chic-ness to them." HER ENSEMBLE: Theia gold foil print strapless mermaid gown with black beading around the neckline, and black and gold Kotur minaudiere from Maria Williams at Little-m-Style. Crystal embellished large gold link necklace from the BCBGMaxazria store. Crystal ball bracelets from Trois Soeurs, an online business on Facebook. Stacked cone bracelets from The Dollhouse Boutique. Crystal ring from Poppy & Stella. Drop crystal earrings and crystal ball ring from Laila Rowe. Stuart Weitzman black leather peep-toe stiletto pumps from Neiman Marcus. WHERE SHE GOES HIGH-END: "I'm obsessed with Chanel. For bags, you can never go wrong with Chanel. You can never go wrong with a Calvin Klein sheath dress or a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress. For suits, I'll do Tahari or something like that...For shoes -- Valentino, Chanel, Prada, Tom Ford -- anything that's high-end. Anything that hurts your feet. I have it." WHERE SHE GOES LOWER-END: ", Topshop, Zara. I don't feel like you have to go high-end with clothes. If you have a great shoe, great handbag, nice accessories, clothes can be anything. At a recent event, I had on a dress from and brand-new Louboutin Impera lace-up [pumps]. The dress was maybe $40." HER LOVE OF CLASSICS: "I do a lot of vintage shopping. My favorite is I've gotten a lot of Chanel bags and Chanel jackets from her. I have this vintage Hermes shirt and skirt set; omigod, it's so gorgeous. I have a Christian Dior dress that I got from her. It's from the 60's; I love it." IF THERE WAS A FIRE IN HER CLOSET: "I would probably rescue my classic flat jumbo Chanel bag. It's a black one and the first one I ever had. It's gone up in value. It's worth $6,000 now, so I could restart my wardrobe."
