'The Vampire Diaries' recap: Episode 14, 'Dangerous Liaisons'

Mothers love their children no matter what. Apparently that statement is true even for the witch mother of the original family of vampires whose hybrid son "killed" her.
 
This episode, Bonnie and her mother Abbie, through their combined witch powers, are able to open to magic-sealed coffin. In it was Klaus' mother, who goes to Klaus and asks if he knows why she is here.
 
"You're here to kill me," he responds through tears.
 
She says: "Niklaus, you are my son. And I am here to forgive you."
 
Then she turns to Elijah, Rebecca and their two original brothers (Elijah undaggered the others) and says: "I want us to be a family again."
 
That was the end of the show.
 
FINALLY!!! Finally, something interesting happens in this show.
 
That's almost all you need to know about tonight's episode. It is, however, probably important to note that there is someone going around killing members of the founder's council.
 
First, it was the medical examiner, who was stabbed with a wooden dagger a few episodes ago.
 
Then tonight, Caroline finds her dad stabbed in the hospital. He had vampire blood in his system, but he doesn't feed to complete the transition. He chooses death over life as a vampire.
 
Alaric was also stabbed. Elena found him at their house, but he didn't know who did it. So to ensure he stays alive, Elena stabs him again, killing him. Because Elena is the doppelganger, a supernatural being, Alaric's spellbound ring brings him back to life.

Best Way to Forgive Your Deadbeat Dad: "I hated him so much for what he did to me, so much," Caroline tells Elena. "Now all I want to do is save his life."
 
Most Romantic Moment: Not exactly romantic, but both Salvatore brothers finally admit to each other that they love Elena. "I love her, Damon," Stefan says. Damon responds: "So do I."
 
Most Touching Family Moment: Caroline's father tells her before he dies: "I love you. You're strong. You're beautiful. You're good. And even after everything that's happened to you, you are exactly who your mother and I hoped you'd grow up to be."
