So, who’s still pissed off?
We start out with Sophie still reeling from the fact that she’s won $1 million. Jeff asks her about how she came across in the game, and she comes up with the awesome answer that she’s decided to be more like Dawn.
Again, I haven’t watched Coach’s previous seasons, but I found him tolerable, if a bit arrogant. If this season was him toning down the arrogance, I can see why people didn’t like him.
And Jeff brings up the huge amount of praying that was done this season, and yes, Coach, it does seem a bit trite.
Coach learns that if he didn’t bring Sophie to the end, he would have won. Ask Colby (from Season 2) how that feels. But I also think that he wouldn’t have won against Ozzy, either. Coach seems OK with losing, but what else can he do? He’s more well known than Sophie, but he doesn’t have the $1 million.
Ah, Ozzy. Probably the best "Survivor" player to never win. He says it’s because he loves nature, and he did seem the most comfortable out there. And despite the things he said about Sophie during the show, he has nothing but nice things to say about her now. But he really doesn’t stop talking about how happy he is, and how much he loves nature, and Jeff has to cut him off.
And now for Cochran. He really does love this game. He’s just not as good at it as he thought he’d be. Which would probably be the case for most of us. At least being on the show has helped with his social anxiety, but he’s still not dating (but he’s open to offers!)
As for Brandon and his Crazy, he was probably the most loyal, genuine person in a game that does not reward blind loyalty (his genuine self is just a bit unstable). And apparently, his whole family was pissed that he didn’t scheme and manipulate enough. But he has a wife and two kids that love him, which makes him tear up. Russell Hantz (who we’ve heard of a couple of times on the show) stands up, and though he may be one of the greatest villains on the show, he’s also tearing up, and he differentiates between being Brandon’s uncle, and the Russell who was on "Survivor," which was a nice point to make.
Ozzy wins the $100,000 vote-in prize, which should be named the Rupert Commemorative Prize. Cochran same second, but he wasn’t even close.
Other small updates: everybody loves Dawn, because she’s awesome, Whitney and Keith are a couple now (they say she was in a relationship when the show started; was she married?), and Edna is pregnant!
And now we see who’s bitter! It’s Jim! He’s still mad at Cochran.
And a preview of next season (the 24th - how did that happen?): the twist is the tribes will be competing against each but living together from the start, in what looks like the coolest tree house ever (unless that’s Tribal Council). It will be called "Survivor: One World," and it starts in February.
And hey, they’re taking applications for the 25th season - who’s signing up?
