It's Night 29 on "Survivor: Kaoh Rong" after Tribal Council, and Mark the Chicken is hanging out in the hammock waiting for everyone. Jason thinks he spoke well for himself, and he continues by talking to Cydney and Michele about who they want to take to the final three. Namely him.
And it might not be a bad idea, because Tai, Aubry and Joe are talking about the same thing. Tai tells them about his extra vote and his immunity idol, and Aubry is realizing the importance of keeping Tai close to her.
The next morning, Tai finds a large grub and laughs about having to possibly eat that. Oh, I hope that doesn't happen — I hate those challenges. He goes give it to Mark the Chicken, who thinks it's a great treat. I guess Mark has officially become a pet. Jason gave up on eating him days ago.
Jason tries to talk to Joe about really "playing" the game, and I'm with Joe on this one — Jason wouldn't be the one whining about people not "making moves" and "playing the game" if he was still the one with the majority alliance. Also, know your audience, Jason; Joe is probably the least receptive person to what you're trying to sell.
Reward challenge time! It's a swimming obstacle course, and then a giant maze/rolly-puzzle/raft thing (like a travel game). The reward is a trip to an animal sanctuary. Teams are Joe, Aubry and Cydney against Jason, Tai and Michele. Jason is way faster than Joe, and they build their lead from there. They have all three on the raft and their first ball on the puzzle before Aubry can get a ball out.
Joe, Cydney and Aubry are not doing great at this — and it seems like no one is listening to Joe. They do finally get one on, but in contrast, Jason, Michele and Tai have an awesome system down and are moving quickly. They win with a sizable lead.
Tai is super happy he gets to go on the reward, but he's worried that his alliance will fall apart without him there (or that they'll talk about getting rid of him, more likely.)
But Cydney is having other thoughts — mostly that she's sick of Joe telling her what to do. He is ordering the two women around a lot. And he is a bit crotchety. Aubry knows they need Joe for his votes, and has no idea how she's going to keep Cydney from wanting to vote off Joe.
First stop at the animal sanctuary is food, but the second is getting to meet an elephant, which is kind of awesome. Actually, it's a lot of awesome. Then they go hang out with monkeys, which is also cool, but not as cool as the elephants. Jason shows his human side again, since his daughter is crazy about animals, but Michele also remembers the ax and machete incident. As do I, Michele.
Immunity challenge time! They have to carry lettered blocks over to a balance platform one at a time, but when they go back to get another letter, they have to balance the platform while holding onto a rope. First one to spell "Immunity" wins.
Joe is actually moving the fastest; he's out to an early lead. But he's also the first to dump all of his letters, followed closely by Michele and Aubry. Tai also drops, and then Jason, which means Cydney, who has been dead last the whole time, is now in the lead.
Joe is having problems because he keeps spelling the word wrong and has to redo the letters. Michele, Tai and Aubry drop again, while Cydney keeps plugging along. But Jason is catching up, and he's moving a lot faster than her.
Jason and Cydney both get their last letters at the same time, so it turns into a slow-motion race as they try to avoid dumping their letters. But Jason drops his letters at the last minute while Cydney hangs on, and Cydney wins immunity.
So who's going home? Tai wants it to be Michele. Joe and Cydney don't look super happy about it. Tai is insistent that it be Michele. Aubry agrees with him, but only after everyone else is gone. Jason would be fine with it, but he doesn't trust Tai, plus he wants to vote for Joe.
Cydney wants Jason to go, and it really is time. Joe seems to be OK with that, but flat out says he will go with whatever the majority decides. Cyndey also tells Michele that Tai is gunning for her.
Aubry agrees with Tai's reasons for wanting Michele to go, but also knows that he didn't exactly go about it the right way. Aubry isn't sure who she's going to vote for, but it seems the choices are either Jason or Michele. What happened to getting rid of Joe?
Tribal Council time! Cydney and Michele call out Tai for trying to tell everyone what to do. Tai tries to play it like everyone in the alliance has a voice, but Cydney's not buying it. And then Tai flat out states that there's a smaller group within their alliance, which set Michele off a bit.
They are arguing about who they agreed should go home, and I think it should be Tai. He goes on a rant about how he doesn't flip-flop and that Michele isn't really in their alliance at all, which is news to her. Aubry then makes a very careful speech about how Tai does things and thinks differently from her in a desperate attempt to distance herself from him.
Voting time! Before Jeff tallies the votes, Tai announces the he's going to use his advantage and cast another vote. First vote is for Jason, then two for Michele. Another one for Jason, and one for Joe. Next one for Jason, and so is the one after that — so it's Jason who's going home. Tai looks perplexed. Simple math will tell you that Tai was the only one who voted for Michele. We'll see if he figures that out.
Next week: Tai is super pissed at Aubry, and turns to Michele, of all people.
