Kacy Catanzaro falls short on 'American Ninja Warrior'

Towson University alum Katy Catanzaro, known to fans as #MightyKacy, returned to the TV competition show "American Ninja Warrior" on Monday, but fell short of qualifying for the next round.

After making it through three obstacles in the Houston qualifiers, the former gymnast faced a daunting task: climb upside down on a net and then swing to another bar. Her leap looked good, but wasn't enough to carry her the full distance, and she plummeted into the water at the 1:45 time marker.

Catanzaro, a New Jersey native, captivated the nation last year when she became the first woman to advance to the show's final challenge, Mt. Midoriyama.

As a gymnast at Towson University, she was the Eastern College Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Year and the NCAA Southeast Regional Gymnast of the Year. Upon graduation, she looked for ways to fill the athletic gap in her life and settled on "America Ninja Warrior."

Fans, don't despair just yet. The fall doesn't seem to have discouraged Catanzaro.
