Amy Schumer hospitalized with pregnancy condition, cancels performance in Texas

Comedian Amy Schumer revealed she’s been hospitalized with a pregnancy complication but assured fans she’s doing OK.

The comic, who is currently expecting her first child, was forced to cancel a scheduled performance in Texas due to Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a condition that often involves serious nausea and vomiting.

“I’m fine. Baby’s fine but everyone who says the 2nd trimester is better is not telling the full story,” Schumer captioned an Instagram post Thursday. “I’ve been even more ill this trimester. I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bulls--t!”

The post included a photo showing Schumer, 37, in a hospital bed. She also praised her nurses in the caption and promised to reschedule the tour date she’s missing.

She had been been slated to perform in Dallas on Thursday.

“Texas I am so deeply sorry,” she wrote. “I have been really looking forward to these shows.”

Schumer and her husband Chris Fischer, whom she married earlier this year, announced in October that they had a baby on the way.

Hyperemesis Gravidarum is a condition that affects less than 3% of expectant mothers, according to WebMD.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, experienced the complication during each of her three pregnancies.

Schumer’s next scheduled performance is set to take place on Saturday at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.
