New Natty Boh: What they're saying on social media

National Bohemian announced this week that it’s releasing its first new beer in 30 years, Crab Shack Shandy.

Though National Bohemian is owned by Los Angeles’ Pabst Brewing Company and hasn’t been brewed in Baltimore since the 1990s, the brand, its beer — colloquially known as Natty Boh — and its mustachioed, one-eyed mascot have been synonymous with Baltimore and Maryland for decades.

So naturally, news that a new Boh was coming to town drew some strong reactions.

Here’s a sampling of what people were saying on Twitter:

Some were excited, or at least intrigued, by the new brew.

Other Boh purists were skeptical.

And many emphasized the fact that Natty Boh isn’t brewed locally, calling for Baltimoreans to channel their devotion to local craft brewers.
