Dru Hill to perform at Baltimore's Washington Monument lighting Thursday

Baltimore R&B group Dru Hill will perform at Thursday evening’s Washington Monument lighting event in Mount Vernon, organizer Downtown Partnership confirmed to The Baltimore Sun.

The quartet — which includes Mark “Sisqo” Andrews, Tamir “Nokio” Ruffin, Larry “Jazz” Anthony and Antwuan “Tao” Simpson — will perform a couple songs from their recently released EP, “Christmas in Baltimore,” said Downtown Partnership’s Michael Evitts. The performance was previously unannounced.

Dru Hill joins a performance list that includes the Morgan Statue University Choir, City College Choir, the Baltimore Rock Opera Society and more. Occurring at Mount Vernon Place (600 block of Cathedral St.), the free event runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with Dru Hill scheduled to perform at approximately 7:45 p.m. A fireworks display will follow.
