M3 Rock Festival returns to Merriweather; Night Ranger, Ratt, Queensryche to headline

The Baltimore Sun

Call it a convenient coincidence: on the same day Live Nation announced Gun N' Roses would play its Fillmore Silver Spring, competitor I.M.P. announced the return of its glam and heavy metal festival to Merriweather Post Pavilion.

The M3 Rock Festival, this year headlined by Night Ranger, Ratt, and Queensryche, will play Merriweather May 11 and 12. It's the fourth year at Merriweather for the festival.

M3 won't have overlapping sets this year - all bands will play one at a time on two separate stages.

The festival kicks off Friday with Night Ranger, Kix, Enuff Z'Nuff, In the Pink, and Let There Be Rock.

Queensryche, Cinderella, Ratt, Skid Row, Warrant, Quiet Riot, Dokken, Stryper, Loudness, Lynch Mob, XYZ, Bang Tango, Drumwars and Street Light Circus will play Saturday.

VIP and discount packaged tickets go on sale Friday, same day as Guns N' Roses!

According to I.M.P. tickets sell out fast; if any remain after initial sale, they will go on sale as single tickets February 24.
