Drinkwater, 36, was shot during an early-morning robbery attempt while escorting a friend to her car. The incident was one of a string of robberies that were reported in the Roland Park, Hampden and Remington areas.

Drinkwater has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, said Charlotte Hays Murray, owner of Charlotte Elliott antique and rare books in Hampden, who has helped raise money for Drinkwater's recovery. She also helped organize a neighborhood watch in the wake of the shooting.

"Hampden has always been a very safe neighborhood," she said, "which is why we're jumping up so quickly to take back our streets."

Shortly after the shooting, friends set up a "Help Zeb with bills and stuff" account through gofundme.com. As of Thursday afternoon, the website had raised $17,406.

More information about the concert can be found here.

Police have charged Yahsim Vaughn, 23, in connection with the Aug. 14 shooting. Police are still looking for a second suspect.
