These soldiers saw D-Day, the liberation of Paris, the opening of concentration camps and some were prisoners of war. However, Jonathan's constant tinkering with Bob and Marianne's "screen life" begins to cause tension between the young lovers. Started as a student project when filmmakers Evan Guilfoyle and Jonathan D. G. Schultz (who is also featured in the film) were still students at UMBC, the film took four years to make for $36,000. It was shot without a script, constructed from improvisation during rehearsals and was filmed almost entirely in Baltimore. It also has music from local bands like Cass McCombs and Sonna and features a live performance by Oxes.
xXx: State of the Union
(2005)
This sequel to 2002's "xXx" features Ice Cube as Darius Stone, the new xXx. Stone, the latest non-traditional recruit to the xXx program is sent to Washington to stop a military splinter group trying to overthrow the American government. It's less James Bond and more John Woo, but what it lacks in plot and character development it more than makes up for in explosions and special effects. The cast also includes Willem Dafoe, Xzibit and Samuel L. Jackson (who, along with Michael Roof are the only cast members returning from the original "xXx"). Various parts were filmed in Baltimore.
