“The Greatest Showman” is a lavish, ludicrous hoot of a movie musical about how Phineas Taylor Barnum, energetically played here by Hugh Jackman, pulled himself up by his bootstraps in 19th-century New York and founded the museum of curiosities that would lay the groundwork for his famous Barnum & Bailey Circus.
