In what seems like an attempt to mitigate the damage done by his stint on āThe Bachelorette,ā recently eliminated bachelor Chad Johnson, also known as āBad Chad,ā appeared on ā
Johnson had piqued the Internetās interest with his quick temper and bizarre non sequiturs on ABCās hit dating reality show, though sparked some concern as the Realtor from Tulsa, Okla., continued to exhibit potentially violent behavior, threaten fellow contestants and even getting involved in a scuffle with another bachelor.
But Johnson was all laughs Monday night as he Skyped in to Kimmelās show (his pet dog Pumpkin prominently featured in the background, completely disinterested in her ownerās interview) to assure the late night host that he wasnāt actually a bad guy, that he just liked to say bad things.
āIn the moment youāll say things, do things. My thing is, sometimes I say things to get the result that I want,ā Johnson tells Kimmel, describing basic conversation and human interactions.
Kimmel also showed Johnson footage from that eveningās episode, that Johnson had yet to watch, in which all of the remaining contestants threw a raucous party celebrating his elimination.
Johnson told Kimmel that whoever you are is āamplified about a million timesā on the show.
āSo what you did is pretended to be a despicable jerk so that everyone would think you were a despicable jerk and now everyone thinks youāre a despicable jerk,ā Kimmel pointed out to Johnson before adding, āItās a bad plan, Chad.ā
Bad plan though it may be, it doesnāt seem to be fazing Johnsonās prospects whatsoever, as the volatile bachelor will also appear on the next season of āBachelor in Paradise,ā proving that apparently sometimes bad behavior does pay off.
Not only that, but it appears that Johnsonās Instagram trolling of his former competitors from the show may have led him to a love connection, as he revealed that the photo he shared recently of himself smooching fellow contestant Robby Hayesā ex-girlfriend Hope Higginbotham (who accused Hayes of dumping her in order to join this season of āThe Bacheloretteā) could in fact lead to something more.
āI donāt want to make any judgments or say where itās going to go,ā Johnson told Kimmel, shrugging.
Other fascinating tidbits from Johnsonās time with Kimmel include:
- He and Canadian Daniel, his BFF on the show, text each other every day.
- His business as a Realtor is booming thanks to his rising reality stardom.
- He wouldnāt actually hurt Jordan Rodgers after the show, as he threatened. He has āpeopleā for that. Swell.
Until we see Johnson again on āBachelor in Paradise,ā please keep his memory alive by watching this clip of him eating meat daily.
Or, alternatively, this Instagram video of him dancing without a shirt on.
The choice is yours.
