The Charmery will soon begin rolling out a new series of flavors that taste like summer in Baltimore.
The Hampden ice cream shop’s “Summer Residency” series will incorporate flavors of ice cream and sorbet that are meant to reflect favorites from Baltimore’s warmest months.
Typical of the Charmery’s creations, some of the new flavors, such as egg custard with marshmallow swirl, ice cream sandwich and peach lavender, are more conservative, while others — pink peppercorn lemonade and “Fresh 2 Death” (cucumber, mint and lime) sorbet, for example — push the limits of traditional ice cream.
“We all grew up in Baltimore and wanted to define summer in Baltimore,” Charmery owner David Alima said.
His team spent time researching summer flavors and toying with recipes before settling on the eight that will be added to the Charmery’s menu.
Each flavor will roll out one at a time throughout the summer starting in June, and they will be on the menu until they sell out.
Located at 801 W. 36th St., the Charmery will celebrate its fourth anniversary in July.
