Severna Park’s Cafe Mezzanotte will close for 6 weeks starting July 30 while the Italian restaurant undergoes renovations and an expansion.
The work includes updating the interior decor, flooring, lighting and furniture, according to a press release. Staff will get new uniforms and an updated kitchen and server stations. The dining room, lounge and banquet rooms will expand in size.
On the outside, new signage and a new color scheme will also be revealed at the restaurant’s reopening in September.
No major renovations have been done since a predecessor to Cafe Mezzanotte opened in the space in the 1970s.
“The new Café Mezzanotte has been carefully crafted to achieve the balance of totally updating our ambiance and brand, while maintaining the soul of the restaurant that has helped us grow for 20 years,” said owner Kosmas “Tommie” Koukoulis in a statement.
Koukoulis bought the space in 2008.
The restaurant will also introduce 20 new menu items, including changes to the wine list and additions to the beer and cocktail selection.
