South Baltimore's In Bloom is opening a deli next door

The owners of In Bloom are opening a deli next door to their South Baltimore restaurant.

Cecilia Benalcazar and Kevin Perry are opening Blooming Deli at 1448 Light St. in the former home of Urban Deli, adjacent to their restaurant.

The husband-and-wife team plan to have the deli open within the next week, Benalcazar said.

The deli will offer catered lunches, as well as breakfast and lunch for sit-in and carry-out customers. The menu will include sandwiches made with Boar’s Head lunch meat, paninis, salads and soups. It will also offer coffee, bagels, smoothies, grab-and-go items and pantry staples. Benalcazar expects sandwiches to cost $8 to $12.

Benalcazar previously owned a sandwich and smoothie shop at the Market House in Annapolis.

“I never knew that that would come back around,” she said.
