July: National Ice Cream Month

Celebrate National Ice Cream Month by taking a tour of Maryland creameries. Launched in 2012 by the department of agriculture to promote Maryland's dairy industry, Maryland's Best Ice Cream Trail leads visitors to eight ice-cream-producing farms, stretching from Worcester to Washington County. Visitors who complete an Ice Cream Trail Passport will be eligible to be named Maryland's Best 2013 Ice Cream Trailblazer. The passport, which doubles as a map to the participating farms, is available on the department of agriculture's Maryland's Best website. • Places to get icy treats around Baltimore [Pictures]FindLocal: Baltimore ice cream shopsGreat Maryland milkshakes [Pictures]
