Chef Donna Crivello, founder of Donna’s Café, plans to open a Sicilian restaurant called Cosima at Mill No. 1 in early 2016.
Cosima will feature fresh Mediterranean cuisine from a Crivello-created menu based on Southern Italian traditions.
The new restaurant, which seats 80, will be located along the Jones Falls and adjacent to Baltimore’s Woodberry and Hampden neighborhoods. Cosima is located in the original boiler room of Mill No. 1
Other features of the restaurant include a loft overlooking the Jones Falls that seats 40; brick and stone walls; outdoor dining on a patio by the water; and a European-style courtyard.
Decor for the restaurant will be inspired by Italy's culture and rustic countryside. Cosima will also feature dining tables built from reclaimed wood by the Surface Project, an apprenticeship program sponsored by the Station North Tool Library.
Wines culled exclusively from Southern Italy highlight the drink menu, which will also include beer and craft cocktails.
