The Food Market to host No Kid Hungry benefit dinner

The Food Market is hosting a dinner Nov. 14 to raise money for No Kid Hungry.

Chad Gauss, chef and owner of The Food Market in Hampden, will host a dinner to benefit Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry initiative next month.

The Nov. 14 dinner will feature multiple courses made by guest chefs including Aja Cage of Gunther & Co., The Corner Pantry's Neill Howell, Ben Lefenfeld of La Cuchara, Zack Mills of Wit & Wisdom and Aggio's Bryan Voltaggio.

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception and auction, followed by a seated dinner at 7 p.m.

Tickets, which range from $150 for individual guests to $10,000 for a "School Breakfast Hero" table of eight, are available through No Kid Hungry's website. All proceeds will go to No Kid Hungry, a program aimed at ending childhood hunger in the U.S.

Wit & Wisdom hosted an event, Chefs Behind Bars, to benefit No Kid Hungry this summer. Other local restaurants, including Petit Louis Bistro in Columbia, have held dinners and participated in national donation drives to raise money for the organization in the past.

The Food Market is located at 1017 W. 36th St.
