Diners looking for the best cheesesteaks outside of Philadelphia don't have to go beyond Baltimore County to find one, according to a new list from the Food Network.
Ravage Deli in Nottingham was named among a list of 10 "Best Philly Cheesesteaks Outside of Philadelphia" published recently by the Food Network.
"Being so close to Philadelphia, it's definitely an honor, and cheesesteaks are pretty much a passion here in Baltimore as well," deli chef and owner Aaron Stahlmann said. "Definitely an honor to win that and be among some really, really awesome cheesesteaks nationwide."
Ravage Deli's recipe uses local dry-aged Black Angus that is shaved, cooked in clarified butter and seasoned with salt and pepper. The steak is chopped on the grill with caramelized onions, topped with cheese and deglazed with beef broth made from a 72-hour beef stock, then served on a hoagie roll.
A regular sandwich is $9.75, and larges go for $13.75.
The eatery is located at 9636 Belair Road.
