Baltimore will take center stage in an upcoming episode of "Burgers, Brew & 'Que" on the Food Network, which will also feature an appearance from actor Josh Charles.
The episode, dubbed "Beers, Burgers and Bocce in Baltimore," premieres Friday at 10 p.m. Heavy Seas Alehouse and Le Garage make up two of the stops on the show, which will air again Saturday at 1 a.m.
"Actor and proud Baltimore native Josh Charles meets up with Michael Symon at his favorite place for crab cakes in a town where everyone fights over where to find the very best," the episode description reads on the show's website. "After a heated round of bocce ball in the city's Little Italy neighborhood, Michael introduces Josh to some of Baltimore's best new spots for juicy, inventive burgers, sweet and savory desserts and refreshing craft brews to wash it all down."
Both Heavy Seas Alehouse and Le Garage are hosting viewing parties Friday night.
At Heavy Seas' "Viewing Parrghty," the restaurant at 1300 Bank St. will serve food and drink specials that coincide with menu items highlighted in the episode. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the alehouse will offer happy hour pairings of beer flights and mini "beerclairs" — eclairs made with beer. And from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. the restaurant will serve beerclairs for $1.28.
Le Garage, located at 911 W. 36th St., will have a viewing party starting at 9 p.m. The Hampden restaurant will offer its house burger, local draft beer and frites (all featured on the episode) for $15.
The restaurant will also show the episode on a TV at its bar and on a projector screen, owner Brendan Kirlin said.
