Generally, we admire someone who will carry around a fishing rod everywhere with them for a year and 24 days. Which is why we were excited to chat with artist Katie Kehoe, who carried the rod around the city as a performance project.

That's our kind of artist. The Canada-bred and now Baltimore-based Kehoe, 32, contributed work for School 33 Art Center's "Construct" exhibition, on view through Saturday (go to school33.org for more information). Kehoe chatted with b about her favorite places to see art, her love for the very Canadian poutine and much more.

Worst pet peeve? When clothes wear out

What's on your iPod? Lately I've preferred listening to Pandora. Channels: Otis Redding, Future Islands and Fela Kuti

What song are you hating/loving right now? Loving Future Islands, "Long Flight" (the video is great too!) and Kim Wilde, "Kids in America"

Last concert/gig you went to? Fiddle music on Christmas Eve in Cape Breton, Canada

Biggest artistic influence? That's a tough one. I'd say it's an impulse — for being and wanting to get to know society and culture. I'm not sure what contributed most to developing that.

Your worst habit? Taking on too much

Trend that has exceeded its natural lifespan? Oreo cookies

Favorite/least favorite band? David Bowie. Favorite, hands down

Last movie you liked/disliked? "Pina." Loved it!

Best place to see art in the city (other than School 33)? Tough one; we're lucky to have many great venues. For now, I'll say Current Gallery, Guest Spot Gallery, and the Contemporary Museum.

TV shows you can't get enough of? "My Name Is Earl,""The IT Crowd" and"The Colbert Report"

Favorite book you recently read? "The Chairs are Where the People Go" by Misha Glouberman and Sheila Heti

Best way to unwind after a long day? A home-cooked meal and quality microbrew

Favorite guilty pleasure? Poutine. It's a Canadian thing and involves fries, cheese and gravy.

Baltimore artist you love? Cindy Cheng and Laure Drogoul

Food you hate? Liver and onions

Favorite place to get a drink? Brewers Art

Favorite and most loathed fashion statements? I'm almost embarrassed to say but here goes: vintage fur. I just love it.
