Lil Boosie to headline Baltimore Arena in August

Lil Boosie was released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola in early March. Now it's time for the Baton Rouge rapper to get back to what made him a star, before he went to prison in 2009 for a third-offense marijuana possession charge.

On Aug. 16, Lil Boosie "and friends" will headline at the Baltimore Arena for the Touchdown 2 Cause Hell tour. Tickets ($43-$103) are on sale now. For more information, go to No word yet on the other artists performing with Boosie.

Before going to prison, Lil Boosie was one of the most popular rappers in the South, an impressive feat considering he lacked crossover, mainstream hits. To understand Boosie's reputation at the time, read this Fader cover story from April 2008, written by now-Washington Post music critic Chris Richards.

Lil Boosie's current single is "Show Da World" — you can watch the video above — and he released a new song, "She Want Some," (contains explicit language) today. His next album, "Touchdown 2 Cause Hell," is tentatively due on July 15.
