Marriott Waterfront set to open new restaurant, Apropoe's

When the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront opened in 2001, the Harbor East hotel's main restaurant was Grille 700, a popular destination for Sunday brunch.

Grille 700 closed last December, when the hotel began an overhaul to its main-floor food and beverage spaces, along with its main lobby.

Later this month, the hotel will unveil the newly configured spaces, along with a new restaurant named Apropoe's -- a play on Edgar Allan Poe.

The menu at Apropoe's will include items like duck confit pizza, a Natty Boh brat burger, braised Duroc pork shank and spiced pork belly sliders.

In addition to the restaurant, the newly renovated space also features a lobby bar and lounge area. The spaces, which will offer guests small plates, widescreen plasma televisions, free WIFI and nightly specials, are designed to accommodate informal after-hour business meetings, happy-hour gatherings and date-night couples, according to information from the hotel.

The renovations at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel follow similar changes at other Baltimore hotel properties in recent years. The Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards, the Hyatt Regency Baltimore and the Radisson Hotel at Cross Keys are among the hotels that have either redesigned or overhauled their main restaurant spaces.
