The deep-fried decadence of the state fair may get most of the attention, but the Brewers Association of Maryland has done the beer-drinking public a service this year by curating a beer list that should make any local proud.
The fair kicks off Friday, and the Brewers Association of Maryland will be serving the following beers (all brewed in-state) both weekends (Aug. 23-25 and Aug. 30-Sept. 2) from noon to 10 p.m. in the Maryland Foods Pavilion:
• DuClaw Brewing Company's Sweet Baby Jesus (a rich peanut butter and chocolate porter)
• Heavy Seas' Loose Cannon (India pale ale)
• Ruhlman Brewing Company's Black Knight (imperial stout)
• Pub Dog's White Dog (orange wheat beer)
• Raven Beer's Tell Tale Heart (India pale ale)
• Evolution Craft Brewing Company's Jacques Au Lantern (pumpkin ale)
• Flying Dog's Dogtoberfest (Marzen/Oktoberfest)
• Union Craft Brewing Company's Balt Altbier (German-style Altbier)
• Monocacy Brewing Company's Riot Rye (pale ale)
